On August 27, 2025, a 55-year-old woman allegedly attempted suicide by jumping in front of a moving metro train at Seelampur Metro Station in Delhi around 1:25 PM.
The incident occurred on the Red Line as the train was heading towards Rithala. Security personnel quickly intervened, pulling her from beneath the train while she was unconscious. The Delhi Metro control room arranged for an ambulance and alerted the Delhi Metro Rail Police at Shastri Park. She was rushed to Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Her identity remains unknown as she was alone and carried no identification documents. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
